3.    ECE Elective Studies Strand
Students are required to take five elective courses out of the following seven elective areas/streams, and the five elective courses must come from at least two elective areas. For students who opt for the Diverse Needs elective area, they will take four compulsory courses and one elective course from any other elective areas/streams. For students without training in Special Child Care Work recognized by the Social Welfare Department, student must take the two compulsory courses: ‘Understanding and Embracing Diversity’ and ‘Meeting Diverse Needs in the Early Years’ from the elective area of Diverse Needs.
