Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Professional and Vocational Education)

* Depending on entry qualifications and experience, participants may be required to take 0-27 cps of Academic Studies courses. Combined with Elective Educational Studies courses, a participant must have attained at least 33 cps of courses in these two domains in order to fulfill the graduation requirements.

# Any aspect of the course and course offerings (including, without limitation, the content of the Course and the manner in which the Course is taught) may be subject to change at any time at the sole discretion of the University.  Without limiting the right of the University to amend the course and its course offerings, it is envisaged that changes may be required due to factors such as staffing, enrolment levels, logistical arrangements and curriculum changes.

  • The medium of instruction is mainly Chinese. English or Putonghua is adopted as the language of instruction for relevant courses, when needed.
  • Courses will be held at the Tseung Kwan O Study Centre / Satellite Study Centre at urban locations / Tai Po Campus as decided by the University.

Participants are required to make own arrangements to undertake relevant teaching in a PVE environment during the specified Field Experience Supervision Period* to fulfill the following FE requirements:

  • To undertake 5 periods of teaching for 3 weeks (not less than 12 teaching hours in total) and for 4 weeks (not less than 16 teaching hours in total) in Semester 1 and 2 of Year 2 respectively; and for 5 weeks (not less than 20 teaching hours in total) in Year 3.
  • Each class should have not less than 8 students.

* Year 2: October – December and January – April; Year 3: October to April

  • Hold qualifications pertinent to their field of educational practice to Associate Degree level or equivalent
  • Have at least 2 years of working experience and workplace learning in and pertinent to their field of educational practice
  • Applicants who do not possess an Associate Degree, but fulfill certain requirements, will be considered on case-by-case basis:
    • Having successfully completed other educational or professional programmes, including recognized professional development programmes
    • Having extensive professional practice in a related field or discipline
    • Providing evidence of their qualification and experience in the form of a portfolio which may include certificates, statements of service, photographic or video presentation of the artifacts from completed projects, job description, recommendation letter etc.

Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview.

The tuition fee for the programme is HK$ 28,100 per annum. This fee is provisional and subject to adjustment.
