FEHD students awarded Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship

2020-07-24

Two FEHD students have been awarded government scholarships under the Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme.

Siu Ki Yan and Wong Lok Yin will soon be graduating with the Bachelor of Arts in Human and Organizational Development.

Ki Yan was awarded the Talent Development Scholarship for her talent and potential in innovation.

Her video on the contrasting sides of Shum Shui Po was elected to be one of the exhibits for “Speak for Shum Shui Po”, a community art project organised by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.

Ki Yan also won 1st Runner Up in "Discover a Better Future", a video marketing Competition organised by the Classified Post in 2019.

“EdUHK provides a channel for me to keep abreast of recent events and take part in a range of activities. These help to expose us to other non-academic areas and explore our potential,” Ki Yan said.

Lok Yin won the Best Progress Award for the improvement in his studies. Lok Yin initially did not enjoy studying, and his first semester at university, was not successful. However, he has turned this around and his GPA has jumped from 2.04 in Year 1 to 3.36 in Year 3.

“Attitude is the key to improvement. It is normal to experience setbacks along with frustrations at the beginning. But I never gave up and my hard work paid off.” Lok Yin said.

As our students’ success illustrates, we encourage our students to realise their full potential in both academic and non-academic areas. We seek to take student development and learning to the NEXT LEVEL.
