Dr Trevor Lee wins Public Policy Research Funding

2020-11-27

Dr Trevor Lee, Assistant Professor of the Department of Education Policy and Leadership, has been awarded Public Policy Research Funding (PPR) this month. The government subsidised funds aim to support quality public policy research in Hong Kong.

Dr Lee studies the challenges faced by schools and families in online learning. His project, Home-School Collaboration as an Online Learning Support System, examines the development of long-term family support systems for online learning in Hong Kong.

To understand the practices adopted by schools and families from different backgrounds, the project will include eight school cases for an in-depth case study.

"We aim to come up with policies that support home-school collaboration and online learning in the long term, as well as establish community partnerships that narrow the gap between those have access to the Internet and those do not," said Dr Lee. "Apart from addressing immediate needs during the pandemic, we also aim to develop school crisis management plans for future crises.”

"I feel blessed and grateful to win the PPR Funding," Dr Lee added, "I am also happy that my overall research plan at EdUHK has been on track."

As Dr Lee’s grant success illustrates, FEHD supports Hong Kong education reform. We seek to foster education policy research and take what we do to the NEXT LEVEL.
