Double award win for Dr Jesus Alfonso Datu

2021-02-08

Dr Jesus Alfonso D. Datu has been awarded the 2020 Emerging Scholar and Diversity Award, as well as the Outstanding Reviewer Award.

The 2020 Emerging Scholar and Diversity Award recognises the SEC Assistant Professor’s high-quality work and contribution as an emerging personality psychologist.

Created by the Association for Research in Personality, the award is a special award adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic situation which combines the Emerging Scholar Award to biennially recognize exceptionally high-quality work from emerging personality psychologists, and the Diversity Award to support the professional development of early career researchers/researchers from historically marginalized communities.

Dr Datu also received the first-ever Outstanding Reviewer Award, conferred by School Psychology International Journal, for his exemplary reviewing contributions in the field of school psychology. The award is given to only one reviewer each year.

“As an early career researcher, I feel honored to have received these international recognitions. This demonstrates the impact of my scholarly and professional service contributions to the field of personality and school psychology. I am grateful for the continuous support of SEC leadership team, collaborators, FEHD, and our university,” said Dr Datu.

As the awards illustrate, FEHD provides a broad range of support and resources to our faculty members in different career stages. By allowing our staff the freedom to focus on their work, we seek to raise what we do to the NEXT LEVEL.
